  1. It was the nicest thing to see the race unfold with blue and green all over. Doug’s efforts in his small break were remarkable and the bridge accomplished by Pat was brilliant. The taming of the pace by the rest of the team while other courageous attempts to bridge were made is undeniable proof that Tower operates as a proactive team. I have never seen so many happy faces after a race; not as happy for their own performance as for having carried out together a team plan that worked to perfection!

  3. Gents,

All I can say is TEAMWORK!! We had a plan and executed it perfectly.

    The race
We massed the team on the front from the start. Two riders took off after the second turn, and since I was dubbed the firt to go I accelerated and latched on to the two guys. We started to work together fro the start, while the rest of the team kept the pelalton in check. After a few laps on of the guys blew up pulling into the head wind. Down to just the two of us we had a fair amount of work to do.
Time checks were yelled out at 20 seconds. I looked back on one of the turn to see a blue and green streak trying to bridge the gap. We continued to share the work, with the big wind starting to take its toll, Finally with only 2 laps to go I look behind me to see Pat’s HUGE effort paid off and he was able to bridge. The other rider(25 yr old grad student) was not to happy about it and refused to work. With the wind we stayed together until the final sprint. I let him lead out into the wind and came by him to take the win. Pat was right behind him.

I owe the whole team for keeping the group in check and Pat(massive watts) for his help the final laps .When I went away on the first lap I by no means thought we would say away the whole race.

In the field sprint Tower showed it’s strength again by taking 4,5,6,7…..

    Great start to the season!
