A professional coach will lead race specific training  designed to improve skills and conditioning for new and experienced riders. Rides will last  60-90 minutes depending on the day’s goals.  It’s a great opportunity to sharpen your racing skills and practice tactics with fellow team members. Please note: this ride is for Tower Team Members only.
Wednesday 6:00AM Group Ride Race-Steady Clarendon Hills 19mi Drop Kevin McCann
Expect a large group at the start that will spread out as the pace increases following the warm up.  Ride includes several  accelerations and three mass sprints.  The group is often large and the route takes you through busy suburban streets, so please observe our group safe riding guidelines and obey all traffic signals.

Friday 6:00AM Group Ride Race-Steady Clarendon Hills 19mi Drop Kevin McCann

Saturday 7:00AM Group Ride Race or Steady Bluff Road 38mi Both available Brad Green
Saturday’s ride is the big day out with 60+ riders. We will start as one group and then split into “Race Pace” and “Steady Pace” groups after crossing 55th street from County Line Rd. The Race Pace group will follow the Drop Policy and there will be no regrouping. The Steady Pace group will follow the No Drop Policy and will regroup after sprints and accelerations.  Both groups will experience multiple accelerations and sprints, and meet at Starbucks for post-ride fellowship.
Sunday 7:00AM Group Ride Steady Varies (Possible) 40 to 65mi No Drop Tony Cacchillo
A tempo ride with a distinctly more relaxed atmosphere than the Saturday rides. The ride leader will pick from one of several standard routes that vary from 45-65 miles with a short stop on longer routes.  Allow sufficient time to cover the maximum distance or be prepared to find your way home if you need to turn back early.

Notes:

  1. All group rides will follow the Safety and Etiquette Guidelines.
  2. All group rides start and finish at the Starbucks Coffee in Western Springs.  Rides meet on the north side of Starbucks.
  3. This ride schedule is for March 1st to November 15th.  All rides outside this period are considered “ad-hoc” and may vary from the guidelines listed above including in length, speed, drop policy, leader, etc.
